Indonesia, officially the Republic of Indonesia (in Indonesian: Republik Indonesia), is a country in Southeast Asia and Oceania. Indonesia comprises 17508 Islands. With a population of about 238 million people, and this is the fourth country in terms of population, and the largest population of Muslims in the world. Indonesia is a republic, with an elected legislature and president. The country's capital city of Jakarta. Shares borders with the wild country of Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Malaysia. Other nearby countries Singapore, the Philippines, Australia and the Indian territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Indonesia is a founding member of ASEAN and a member of the Group of Twenty major economies. The Indonesian economy is the eighth ten globally in terms of nominal GDP and fifteenth in terms of purchasing power.
